Venturing to wild and remote destinations,  Time + Tide  is a pioneer in the luxury safari and island business.  We have a legacy in responsible tourism and offer our guests the luxury of space to feel truly alive, giving guests the opportunity to step away from the incessant “doing” of everyday life and a moment to “be present”.

Time + Tide  spans across land and sea, from Zambia to Madagascar, with our exceptional teams on the ground taking extraordinary care in sharing our deep appreciation for these destinations with each and every guest.

Time + Tide is a family-owned business, the culture of who we are is the essence of our brand values. We focus on the four pillars: community, conservation, sustainability and local economies in everything that we do to ensure that all our efforts go towards safeguarding some of the world’s most precious places, people and wildlife, for generations that follow.

Our History

The Time + Tide Story

The Time + Tide journey honours the dedication of many people and families, uniting properties to highlight the exceptional beauty of Zambia and Madagascar.

Our story begins in the 1950s in Zambia, where Norman Carr pioneered walking safaris in the South Luangwa Valley. In the 1990s, the Liebenberg family introduced Chongwe in the Lower Zambezi Valley. Later, the Peyre and Dalais families recognised the need to protect the northern part of Madagascar, particularly the Miavana archipelago, leading to the addition of Tsara Komba in the Nosy Be archipelago.

Thierry Dalais brought Time + Tide together, driven by a vision to preserve unique locations. Each destination requires biodiversity protection and the creation of alternative economies to safeguard our natural heritage.

Time + Tide is dedicated to offering immersive tourism experiences, collaborating with local communities, NGOs, local authorities, and conservation organisations to ensure the long-term sustainability of these remarkable places for future generations.
