At Time + Tide Tsara Komba, the festive season arrives quietly. Soft lights and simple decorations appear around the lodge, the trees catch the last of the evening glow, and there is an easy sense of celebration in the air. The forest, the ocean and the warm hum of island life set the rhythm for the days ahead. With our festive offer, stay six nights and only pay for five, giving you more time to settle into the island and unwind.
On selected evenings, musicians and choir members from nearby villages, join us at the lodge. They bring songs, short recitations and a natural energy that quickly fills the Divine House. While our chef prepares a special tasting menu, music drifts through the evening.
New Year’s Eve has its own character. The celebrations grow livelier as traditional song and dance fill the air. Gérard, our carpenter, takes on the role of master of ceremonies, and our housekeepers swap their usual routines for traditional dances that guests now look forward to each year. Throughout the season, guests receive a few discreet surprises of their own, with small Madagascan touches that reflect the island and its people.
On the first day of the new year, the tempo softens again. Lunch and dinner are calm and unhurried, the ocean never far away, and the island feels like it has drawn a deep breath, offering a gentle start to the year ahead.
Throughout the festive season, our guests are treated to a few surprises. There is no rush and no fixed agenda, just time to linger over long meals, listen to the music and enjoy the simple pleasure of being together in a place that feels far from the usual year end rush.
