Introducing Time + Tide Tsara Komba

Our Time + Tide story has always been one of passion for the exceptional beauty of Zambia and Madagascar, so it is no surprise that we are extremely pleased to announce a proud new chapter in our narrative of Time + Tide Tsara Komba to our family of safari properties. Here at Tsara Komba, luxury is personal, travel is impactful, and the preservation of the natural world is paramount.

Tsara Komba is a luxurious hideaway nestled on the lush slopes of Nosy Komba, an island off the northwest coast of Madagascar, easily accessible via a short boat trip from Nosy Be. We invite guests to immerse themselves in island life, engaging in activities that range from snorkelling in the clear waters of the Nosy Be archipelago to leisurely walks through our Eden Garden, nurturing over 200 species of plants, offering a true forest to reef safari experience. Set against the dramatic backdrop of a former volcanic island, the lodge’s prime location allows for a seamless blend of adventure and relaxation, offering everything from beachfront leisure to exploring the local villages.

Authenticity and immersion

The architecture of Tsara Komba blends harmoniously with the environment, offering expansive ocean views from its eco-consciously designed suites featuring natural materials. Each lodge is a private sanctuary, fostering a profound connection with the outdoors, through terraces that open up to the ocean breeze and tropical gardens. The lodges include six 90m2 Ocean View Rooms and two 120m2 Ocean View Suites, each with their own en-suite bathroom and large private terrace.

Led by Chef Tina Hary, dining at Tsara Komba is an exploration of taste, where traditional Malagasy flavours meet gourmet craftsmanship in dishes prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Guests can savour meals with panoramic views from the elevated decks of the lodge’s main area, enjoy a private dinner under the stars on the beach, or have a picnic packed by our team to be enjoyed on our sandy shores or during an archipelago exploration.

Wild adventures and extraordinary ecosystems

Nestled within a biodiversity hotspot, Tsara Komba not only offers a sanctuary for guests but also acts as a guardian of the archipelago’s unique ecosystem. In Madagascar, you can find species that exist nowhere else on earth. The array of activities available, on land and sea, allows guests to engage directly with the island’s diverse environments and witness its remarkable wildlife, offering a true forest-to-reef safari experience.

Scuba diving expeditions provide access to thriving coral ecosystems, with options available for all skill levels. Snorkelling trips are organised for up-close views of the marine life, including turtles, just off the shores of Nosy Komba. Venture out to swim with whale sharks or watch Humpback whales right from your private terrace, depending on the season.
