Lokobe National Park
This protected nature reserve is the archipelago’s last primaeval forest. It covers the south-eastern part of Nosy Be, spanning 740 hectares. Numerous varieties of medicinal plants endemic to Madagascar and millennia-old trees (palms, ferns, orchids, pandanus and epiphytic plants…) can be found alongside more than 350 animal species (insects, primates, lemurs – including a lemur endemic to the reserve: the Eulemur macaco -, frogs, chameleons, birds, reptiles…) make it popular with scientists from all around the world and all lovers of plants and wildlife.
