Nosy Iranja is a short journey from the shores of Tsara Komba and is known as the ‘Island of Turtles’. As the name implies, the island is a favourite among large numbers of turtles who come to lay their eggs on the soft sands each year. Nosy Iranja comprises of two islets connected by a slender sandbank, creating an ephemeral path that invites visitors to wander between these two pieces of paradise. The experience of walking this sandbank, with the ocean gently lapping at your feet, is nothing short of magical. This is a place where time stands still, allowing you to soak in the pristine beauty of untouched beaches and the clear turquoise sea.

Nosy Komba is a former volcano, today covered by a lush tropical forest brimming with flowers, trees and endemic wildlife. Trekking through the lush forest with your private guide, discover everything the island has to offer including colourful chameleons and interesting birds before moving through vanilla and pink peppercorn plantations. A 4-hour trek can take you to the highest point of Nosy Komba. Once you have soaked in the views, walk back down to the village on the other side where a motorised dugout canoe will be waiting to take you back to the lodge.
